Illuminating Defense

After my friend has recently been abducted on her way to work, we were all a bit traumatized with the incident. It probably is because you would never really think this can happen to you. For someone I am close to at work, it can cause quite a stir and would not want to experience the same fate. Since the criminal is still at large, I would not want to possibly be the next in line as his victim.

I decided to take some precautionary measures to ensure that I am able to protect myself and be aware of my surroundings at all times. Being vigilant is the best way by which one can guard himself from possible harm. I keep a pepper gel night defender with me so I can easily spot any person and immediately ward him off. The LED light is truly effective for me to recognize the suspect who is attempting to violate me.

Given the news on various disasters and mishaps happening all over the world, we all cannot help but worry and become paranoid as to when this may happen once again. Since these things are often something we cannot have full control of, the only thing we are left to do is to become prepared should these disasters strike once again. Being prepared is crucial especially when you have children in the home who depend on you.

In each home, it is crucial to have earthquake emergency supplies in stock in case the disaster decides to visit your state. Parents must be able to be ready for anything in order to keep their families to survive. Disaster preparedness is the key for survival. Food, first aid kits and the like must be stocked up in preparation for what is to come. Tools are also important should the parent would need to get themselves out of the worst situations such as rubble.

There are a lot of things that you can put in your house to make it look beautiful. These things range from décor to the most captivating furniture. Sure enough, this will be helpful in impressing visitors whenever they go inside your house. But there is one question that you should always have in mind, do you have the most important kit your house should have?

This is the emergency kits for home that other people forget to have inside their house. They should always remember that this kit can save lives and can help you whenever accidents suddenly happen. The decor of your house is also important, I must say. But the emergency kit is also very important and you should never take it for granted.

Matter of Survival

During those natural disasters and emergencies, one of the things that rescue teams gave out to the victims is a 2400 calorie food bar. If you are thinking about it, this is a pretty large sum of calorie count, but when you are tired and worn out after having survived a tragedy, then this is simply what you will need to keep you energized for a few days. This is particularly helpful during those times when there are no food supplies you can find anywhere and you have no way of preparing food for you and your family.

These things can go for many years in your pantry, a shelf life of up to 5 years. Having these around is the best bet when you are faced during those moments where everything is but a matter of survival. The food bar contains all the required nutrients and calories victims need so they can sustain even without food for days on end. When these things are in your home, you can be assured that you and your family will be able to bear it all regardless of what tragedy may strike in your neighborhood.

Family First

As the head of the family, I must go through great lengths to ensure that my wife and children are always safe. That is the reason why I work hard so they can live in a peaceful and secure neighborhood, and invest on things around the house that would assure me of their safety at all times. I cannot imagine losing even one of them, I would rather spare my own life than to see any one of my family suffer. It is a tough world out there, and I try my best to protect my family from anything that may hurt them.

For me family comes first, and that is why I keep a 4 person survival kit for uncontrollable situations that are likely to occur. After looking at how some of the natural disasters have taken a toll on various parts of the country and the world, I would want to remain confident in making sure that my family has better chances of surviving these mishaps. Natural disasters are something I have no influence over, but getting through these things is something I can be prepared for. I wouldn’t risk anything bad happening to my girls.

Now is the time for the kids to all go back to school. You’ll drop them off and they will be in someones else s care until you pick them up again.  Do you know what the schools plan is in case of a power outage, a tornado or a hurricane? As parents we cannot all go rushing back to school to pick them up. The school needs to have supplies available on site in case they need to keep the children in a lock down situation for anywhere from a few hours to up to 3 days.

A viable solution is for every school and preferably  every classroom have a Deluxe Classroom lock down kit. Each kit contains food and water, first aid, sanitation and other essential equipment for up to 3 days. Every parent should feel better that in the event they can’t get there, their children will have what they need  in the event of a crisis. If the school cannot afford  them, these would be a worthy project of the PTO or woman’s auxiliary. It always best to be prepared!

A Link to Vital Information

Sometimes disasters strike suddenly and without warning. Survivors are left shocked and wondering not only what happened, but what they should do next and if there are emergency resources immediately available to them. Having a link to the outside world is key if you’re trapped in a building or lost in the wilderness. It can literally make the difference between life and death in a survival situation.

An emergency radio can give you vital emergency information after a disaster strikes. You should absolutely have one in your survival kit, and there are several options to choose from. A compact radio is best so you can easily bring it with you if you need to be on the move. A radio powered by the sun or by a hand crank is useful because there are no batteries to run out of. On the other hand, if you choose a battery-powered radio, be sure to keep extra batteries stored along with it. There are also multi-function survival tools, like a flashlight/radio combination. This handy all-in-one is great because you only need to grab one item, not two, to have both light and information at your disposal.
